On Monday, July 20, 2020 , the Rotary Club of Florence has to pleasure of presenting their seven 2020 High School Scholarship recipients. This will be club’s 21st year in awarding these scholarships. It is the club’s longest running program. Dr. Herbert Booth suggested the club should honor students and assist them in pursuing education at a higher level. Shawn Carroll lead the charge in organizing the program.
All schools in Boone County, both public and private, are included in the scholarship process. The main fundraiser for the funds which provide for these scholarships is the annual golf outing.
The importance of the scholarship from one of the recipients states it best “”Thank you again for all of your support and for choosing me for this award! I would once again like to state my gratitude for receiving the scholarship. I am so grateful, and I know the scholarship will be helpful as I start the next chapter of my life.”

Conner High School – Laruen Taylor
Larry A. Ryle High School – Callie Dickman
Randall K. Cooper High School – Aubrey Hinton
St. Henry District High School – Aneliese Rodriguez
Union Pointe Academy – Loretta Sendelbach
Walton-Verona High School – Mackenzie Edmisten
